We had Thanksgiving early on Sunday so that we could leave for our trip on Tuesday. Krisha got married that late morning at 11:00. Her luncheon was at 12:00 and then Sidney and I drove home, packed and we headed out that early evening along with the Johnson and Martin families, for California. We made it as far as Vegas and spent the night at South Point before continuing on into Cali. We arrived in California that afternoon and went straight to our hotel which was The Great Wolf Lodge. Totally been on my bucket list for years! It has an amazing indoor water park, bowling, games for the kiddo’s, story hour, dancing, etc. Even though my kids are big now, they still had a ball there. The water slides are for the big and small alike. Then that evening, Sidney, Molly and I headed over to Disneyland and California Adventure for the rest of the night. I was so excited to see it for Christmas! And in true Disney style, I was NOT let down! The next day was Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. We all played in the parks and had our Thanksgiving meal there. Only Justin came from the Martin bunch. The kids and adults all had fun! We freaking love that place. It just makes me smile! On Friday we went to our families first ever hockey game. The Anaheim Ducks played the Edmonton Canada Oilers. The Ducks won in overtime 2 to 1. It was an exciting game to watch. Very fast paced. On Saturday we went to the USC Trojan Memorial Colosseum for Porter’s senior night game against the Fighting Irish from Notre Dame. Porter is still out with his broken ankle so he didn’t play but it was still fun to go and support him. The Irish took the win at 24-17. 🍀 We spent the WHOLE day driving home on Sunday. The traffic was so heavy from St. George up the whole way. Once we hit Santaquin it let up a bit because I15 finally turns into 3 lanes. UDOT has got to break down and make that long stretch a 3 lane freeway. Its always busy. It took almost 2 hours longer to travel that stretch than normal. PUKE! All in all, it was a PRICEY trip filled with cool things to see and do but the memories we made were priceless. (and my favorites parts were the nights when we would all be in the same hotel room and we would LAUGH and laugh our butts off. The kids would tease and joke and it was just bliss for this mama's heart)
This seasonal Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaroon was AMAZING!!!
This Chocolate Peppermint Macaroon in the shape of a Santa hat was also delicious!
We all got wet on Splash Mountain.......Some of us got SOAKED!
Our Thanksgiving dinner was served up from the French Market and I have to say that it was REALLY really yummy! And no clean up for me!
Disney is so spectacular at Christmas. My favorite thing is when they have the firework show and I get a viewing spot on Main Street. I love the magic that goes into that show. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the snow that they blow - and bonus, it smells like gingerbread! I also love the animation of the cartoons that they play down the building fronts.
Friday night after the Hockey game and the day before the USC game, we made our way down to Newport Beach to Rockin' Baja Lobster for our traditional USC game dinner.
Having the privilege of having field passes has been such a special treat. Its super fun to be on the field and watch them warm up.
