Homecoming Dance

Homecoming Sept 26, 2015

So so fun to have both Jens and Sidney in high school this year!  I loved having the door decorated for the both of them.  I loved watching the two of them at football games!  Our homecoming football game was against Wasatch on Friday, Oct. 25.  It was a fun win for our boys!  The next day was the dance.

They both looked great!

I loved how I did Sidney's hair!  She looked so pretty!

Molly was so cute - she got dressed up complete with makeup and perfume.  She was so excited for the kids to get all gussied up and go on a date.  She thought that Brook smelled so good!

Fun at the Cabin

We were SOOOO grateful for Mark & Kathy's family letting us stay at their cabin while our house was being built.  We had some pretty fun times there.  Hikes to the big tree, tin foil dinners, s'mores, cousins over to play, four wheeler rides, lots of wildlife to see and some pretty crazy rainstorms!

Cade and Molly loved going up to the big swing!  I was always nervous that a bear was going to come and get them!  There are a ton of black bear in those parts and bear were spotted on occasion around the cabins or the pond.  I had a couple rules.  They were to take the 4 wheeler EVERYWHERE they went.  I thought the noise of the machine would help deter bears and they always had to walk close together so that they would look bigger.  Kinda dumb I know, but it gave me peace of mind.

I put some cracked corn out in a container on the front porch to entice the turkeys up there.  Peaches loved watching them and when she was out, she would climb the trees to the tippity top and catch birds.

I had my mom, Darren's family and Brian's family up for the day.  We had a great time!  We hiked up to the Big Tree and made tin foil dinners when we came back.  The kids loved it!

Darren's kids have decided that they want to live in a cabin too!

Hike to the Big Tree

Sunday, September 13, 2015
Craig and Paisley Callister called us to see what we were up to and if we wanted to hike to the BIG TREE.  Jeff was just about to leave for a flight but they came up to the cabin anyway and the rest of us hiked it.  They were babysitting their nephews so there was a big group of us.  Jens also had Keyne Christensen come up and hike with us.  It was a gorgeous day with perfect weather.

It was the first time anyone from our little family had ever hiked it.  The Callister kids found this cool tree hut and climbed clear up there to sit on it.

Even though I watched them climb clear up there and back down again I still have no clue how they did it.  The growth was so thick that it was hard to see.

We finally made it!  Cade almost didn't make it and Molly was ticked off that she had made it!  "It was a stupid hike and she was never doing it again!"  (which she did the following month....)  We ate some granola bars, drank a bunch of water, took some pictures and headed back down.
