Homemade Snickers

I found the recipe to these little babies on Pinterest.
They are to die for!
Be prepared to gain some weight!

         Layer one:
 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk chocolate chips together.
Melt together in the microwave for 40 seconds.  Take it out, give it a good stir.  Continue       microwaving in 20 second intervals until it's melted.  Spread on the bottom of a greased 9x11 pan.  I also put parchment paper down and sprayed Pam on top of the parchment.  Put the pan in the freezer so the chocolate can set up.

 2nd Layer:
4 tbsp butter melted in a sauce pot
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
Bring to a boil for 3 minutes

 Remove from heat and add:
1 1/2 cup marshmallow creme
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla

Stir together until smooth and add
1 cup salted peanuts
Pour on top of chocolate.  Put back in the freezer to set up.

3rd Layer:
One 14 oz bag of unwrapped caramels
1/4 cup evaporated milk
Melt together.  Pour on top of nougat.  Put back in the freezer to set up.

4th Layer:
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Melt together in the microwave for 40 seconds.  Stir, melt for 20 second intervals until melted.  Pour on top of caramel.  Put back in the fridge to set up for at least one hour.  Keep uneaten portion in the fridge because the chocolate and the nougat tend to soften too much at room temperature.

This is so dang yummy!

So, to recap this recipe, you'll need:
Layer 1:
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Layer 2:
4 tablespoons BUTTER - NOT MARGARINE!
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup marshmallow creme
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup salted peanuts

Layer 3:
One 14 ounce bag caramels
1/4 cup evaporated milk

Layer 4:
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Disneyland at Christmas!

Nancy, Cade, Molly & I flew down to California for a vacation November 17 - 21, 2013.  I have always wanted to see Disneyland decorated for Christmas and Nancy hadn't been there since about 1975.  So needless to say, we were super excited!
We flew down on a Sunday morning.  Our first stop was the beach.  Nancy hadn't seen the ocean for several decades!

The temperature was only about 69 degrees but that didn't stop Molly and Cade from running straight to the water!

The next day, Monday, we went to Disneyland..

It was decorated so cute!

 Cinderella's castle was so beautiful!

New Orleans Square was awesome!

Toon Town was all decked out for the season.

Minnie's house

Mickey's house

It's a Small World was AMAZING!
Quoting Nancy, "This entire trip was worth that ride!"
I wish we would have been able to take my dad here before he got sick and died.  I know he would have really enjoyed it.

The Haunted Mansion was all redecorated in the Nightmare Before Christmas theme.

We spent all day Tuesday in California Adventure.

Cars Land just opened this past June and I could hardly wait to see it!

It looked just exactly like the movie.

All the trees were so cute.
They were made out of road signs, hub caps, traffic cones and tires.

Bugs Land was also really cute.

We watched the 3D movie, "It's Tough to be a Bug".

World of Color was done in blues and purples and the theme was from the new Frozen movie.

Wednesday we took the kids swimming and we went shopping in Downtown Disney.  We had dinner at Rainforest Cafe.  We flew home on Thursday morning.
I'm so glad we got to see Disney at Christmas!
I can't wait to go back at this time of year again!
