My sweet Caden started to feel sick last Saturday, Feb 8th. On Sunday he started to feed her and he ended up staying home from school the whole week. We thought he had strep throat and started him on a Z pack. Unfortunately azithromycin does nothing for strep throat. 🤷🏼♀️ We didn’t know. He continued to fever and his throat was killing him. I took him to the doctor the following Thursday. Dr. Miller said his throat was really swollen and put him on a high dose of Augmentin. The next morning, Dr Miller called me to see if Cade was feeling any better at all. I let him know that careful the exact same. He told us to bring him right in. Jeffy brought him over and Dr. Miller took one look in his throat and admitted him straight into the hospital. He had developed staff in his throat and was totally dehydrated. Both of his tonsils were swollen, but his right tonsil is so hugely swollen, that it was pushing his uvula to the side. Dr. Ence, an ENT, came to his room and you said a giant, fat needle to drain the abscess. He sucked a bunch of infection out with one needle then had to stick a second one in and drain more. It hurt poor Mr. Skittels so bad. 😢 Tears just rolled off his cheeks, but by that evening he was feeling so much better! They put him on yet another anabiotic, his third one and pumped him full of fluids. His fever finally broke and by the next afternoon, which was Saturday, Feb 15th, a full week of being super sick, he was able to go home! And believe it or not, two hours after he got home, if he left on his date for Sweethearts!
Thank goodness for modern medicine and lots of prayers.
