Salem, Massachusetts, and the Witch Fest have been something that I have wanted to do for several years. For one reason or another, the trip kept getting pushed back. This year I decided NOTHING was going to stop me and I was going whether I went alone or with 32 of my friends, ha ha! So I booked my flights and then put it out as an invitation to others. Alexandra and Halle came along with Mandy and Haislee. We made the flight out and stayed in Boston. Boston in the fall was so pretty! I had forgotten just how much I love this city! Unlike New York, it's clean, it doesn't smell like urine, it has more of a warm, welcoming feel, and I love the history there.
Since I was the only one that has been there before, I took them to see some of my favorite sites, like: Make Way For Ducklings in the Boston Commons Garden - Cheers - the pretty neighborhoods in Beacon Hill and Acorn Street. Some of the cool, historic cemeteries. We saw the graves of John Hancock, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin's parents, Mother Goose, Paul Revere, victims of the Boston Massacre, and others. We ate at all the best places including one of my favorite restaurants, Legal Seafoods and I was SO happy to eat there and have their clam chowder. On one of the days we took the ferry over to Salem and spent the day there seeing all the things and doing all the witch stuff. It was like walking through a Hallmark movie! The whole town was decorated so cute and festive. All the local residents dress up and walk the streets - so fun! We saw all the things, including The House of Seven Gables, the Witch House, the Bewitched statue, the cemetery with memorials to the witch trials victims and did a historical walking tour.
We had delicious food, saw lots of sites, laughed and had a blast! It was such a fun trip!
