Jens is doing awesome in San Antonio! He loves his companion, Elder Braden Ostler, from Payson, crazy enough! He loves his mission president and he loves the area he is in. It's quite a wealthy neighborhood so getting people to listen to his message is a challenge. They "have all they need". Sometimes is easier to teach people the Gospel when they are humble and are looking for a better life. But he is enjoying it still the same.
The first day that he flew in, he was taken to the Alamo.
We bought him a NICE bike. It got stolen the first week. BUG! So he's been riding an older mission bike. It's had lots of problems. The chain keeps breaking and it's breaks are bad. Looks like he's going to be staying in this area so we're going to have to break down and buy him a new one.
It's hot and REALLY HUMID there. He's a sweaty mess after just 30 minutes of being outside.
He sweats through his shirt neck color and through his ties. Look how gross they look at the end of each day.
He's definitely been getting some love from just about everyone. He gets letters, treats and packages all the time. I'm so grateful for everyone taking care of my boy!
He and his companion have been doing some pretty impressive cooking!
His companion's strange.....yet cool trick!
I looked up his address on google earth and found his apartments. They look really nice. I'm so impressed with his growth, both in maturity and spiritually. He is truly an amazing kid. I couldn't have asked for anything more in a son. He is a gift and I am a lucky woman to be his mama.
