So WAY back when Jens was 15, he finished his eagle project and we JUST did all the paperwork right before he turned 18! Then Jens left on his mission before we could have the court of honor. So we had decided to just bag it. But Troy Kunz in our ward put one together for Jens, Treyven Zobell (who had also already left on his mission) and Hayden Henrie (who had just moved out of our ward). It was kind of silly because not one of those boys were even in the ward anymore but it was nice to have anyway --- even if it was without them there. The boys had written letters to their eagle mentors and parents and had sent them to Troy. The letters were read at the court of honor.
Jens of course chose Kurt Christensen as his eagle mentor. The only reason Jens even got his eagle was because of Kurt. He was an amazing help and very deserving of the award!
