🎃 Carving Pumpkins 2018 🎃

I bought airline tickets for me and the girls to go to Disneyland next week.  We'll be spending Halloween in the park!  We have annual passes - so I figured, why not!  But because of that, it cut us short on time to go to the pumpkin patch as a family.  Cade has football every night.  His 9th grade season is over but he gets to dress varsity, which is awesome, but they've made it to the playoffs so the season is much longer than normal now.  So I just had to buy some pumpkins from Macey's.  It was still fun to carve them together.  And it was so nice having Jens back to participate with us!

Pumpkin Patch with Friends

Molly planned a date with her friends and their moms, who are also my friends, to go to lunch, then to Rowley's Red Barn and Pumpkin Patch.  She planned it over fall break, and luckily all of us were home!  Usually the majority of us are out of town for the break.  We went to Costa Vida for lunch and then headed over to Rowley's.  It was a great day!  They've added a zip line and the jumping pillows.  They girls had a ball together and quite honestly, so did us moms.  After we left the patch, we headed back into the Big Red Barn for apple & vanilla ice cream shakes, pumpkin spice and apple spice donuts and apple juice.  Then all the girls headed to our house to paint their pumpkins.

Jens’ First Buck!! 🦌

Jens made a memory tonight to last a lifetime! He has been drying to hunt for the past two years. He couldn’t hardly wait to get home for the hunts!  Tonight he shot his first buck. He, Jeff and Cade have been hunting a bit everyday but Jens has been religious about it. Today after he got off work, he, Cooper and Sam headed back up the mountain. Coop spotted a herd of deer - 7 of them. All does except the one buck. He took his first shot and missed. They nicked up around a bit more and found them all again. This time he didn’t miss. The boys dressed it out and hauled it home to show us. He was so happy!  Then they loaded back up in the truck with Jeff and Cade as well to head down to Grandpa Joe Beddoes ( Cooper’s grandpa) house to finish dressing it.  Grandpa Joe let let put it in his shop garage to do the skinning and other dirty work until Jens can get it to the meat packing plant in the morning.  The three boys were feeling pretty happy with Jensy’s success tonight!

Family Pictures 2018

The last time we took family pictures was 2 years ago before Jens left for Texas.  I really wanted to get them before the leaves started to change colors - but I had to wait for Jensy to get home in late August, then our lives were slightly crazy from that point on with his homecoming, school starting, Sidney starting school, our Texas trip, the fire, etc.  Anyway.... when we were finally able to get to them, a massive storm was coming in from the coast bringing rain from the hurricane that had hit the coast.  We had expected rain - everyday - for the next two weeks.  We raced to get them done and JUST as we got to our location, the rain began!m  We quickly took a few FAST snapshots in the rain and called it quits.  They turned out okay considering there was literally rain falling all around us.  We'll have to get them re-done as soon as the rain stops next week but in the meantime, these look pretty nice!
(Just disregard the raindrops you see on Jeff and Cade's shirts)
