More Cade Comments.....

I took Cade to the doctor today for his kindergarten physical. All was going well until the doctor started to examine Cade. He listened to his heart, checked his vision, ears, joints, etc. The following is the conversation that followed:

Dr. : And lastly, I just need to check your private area.
Cade: ...Why....?
Dr. :Just because I need to make sure that everything is okay down there.
Cade: Well....you are a sick-o. (stated matter of factly)

The doctor then proceeds to tell Cade how no one should see there, not even a doctor unless his mom or dad is in the room.....blah, blah, blah...

Dr. : Does he have any strange looking moles?
Me: No.
Cade: Expect for on my buttcheeks.
Dr. : (turning around to see me) ....Where...? (tries to conceal a laugh)

I then have to explain how Cade has one, cute, little normal mole on his upper buttcheek. Then he needed one final immunization. The nurse comes in to do it and he's not going to let it happen. I procede to tell Cade that if he doesn't stick out his arm and let her do it all by himself that I'm going to have to hold him down for her to do it. He relents and she does it really quick. The nurse walks out of the room.

Me: She was really fast Cade! That was not near as bad as you thought it would be. You be sure to thank her for doing it so quick.

The nurse walks back in.....

Cade: (bitterly and through his teeth) Thanks a whole lot!

Fun in the Sun!

I took the kids down south to stay in the house for the weekend. The Johnson's and Parry's came too. (minus Jeff and Travis) We had a blast! The house was way full and crazy, but fun. The boys caught lizard after lizard
We played at the park...

tried to keep these two partners in crime out of trouble. They would unlock the doors and sneak outside and run down the street. They would throw the boys golf balls around, and they got into Jamies makeup and got mascara all over Molly's face and body and bed and clothes...

had the ultimate sleepover. What with 14 kids in the house, what else do you do? One thing I know for sure is that we parents need to find a different passtime!...ate about 50 popscicles....

tried to get all the kids to hold still in ONE spot for just ONE picture all together...
celebrated Averi's 8th birhtday...
swam...
swam...
swam....
and swam...
and last but not least, watched a couple of Jaxon's baseball games. His team did really well but just lost it in the end of a couple of the games. They are a great team but ended up taking 4th place, which is still great! I love this picture because if you look closely, you will see the bat is hitting the ball. (i couldnt take one like that again if i tried 100 times)

Fun weekend in the warm 80 degree sun!

Pinewood Derby

Here is Jens with a couple of other boys from his scout troop. Getting ready for the big race!

He raced a few times and usually took 2nd or 3rd. Then his wheel fell off. Oh well! ( and just for the record..., last year I built Jens' car and his wheels were PERFECT!)

5th grade Science Fair

The 5th grade Science Fair.....is it just me or do you think that this is "mom homework" too?
On a lighter note...Jens and his buddy AJ did it together. "They" (me) soaked 3 different teeth in 3 different beverages. Coke, OJ, and Kool Aid for 2 weeks.
We checked the progress after 1 week. The tooth in the orange juice broke in half, and the other two had signs of decay.

At the end of 2 weeks, the were all soft, had holes eaten in them and were discolored. The OJ one had all the enamel eaten off too. Sooo, OJ is good for the body, hard on the teeth. SO BRUSH AFTERWARDS!
(I better get an A!)

Seriously?

TWO days ago, my kids and I went to the park with my sisters in law and nieces. TWO days ago. We had a great time playing on the playground. It was windy but still very pleasant.

And this morning I wake up to 6 new inches of snow.

6! Sure it's pretty and all that to look at. I'd just perfer to look at it in pictures and not EXPERIENCE it!

So instead of playing at the park, the kids played outside in their coats, boots, mittens and hats. They built a snowman instead of swinging or riding their bikes .
I really don't like winter. I just deal with it.

Hmmm...

Well I think I might have bitten off more than I want to chew. I was called and asked to be the parade chairman for our local city days parade. I said "sure!" After I hung up the phone and I really thought about it, I wondered if I should have suggested that I just be a helper, instead of over the thing. Wish me luck.
