Code Black takes Pensacola by Storm

Molly and I had the most fun week in Alabama and Florida!  We flew out on Wed. April 27th and flew back home Monday, May 2nd.  Her cheer team went to Pensacola, FL to compete in a nationals competition. They competed against teams from all over the south.  And her team placed FIRST!!!  They did so good!  They won the coolest rings too.  The girls were really excited to get them.  We stayed in a big condo in Orange Beach, AL with several other cheer moms and cheerleaders.   We had the best group of people and had tons of fun together.  We laughed so hard!  We spent a couple days at the beach and a couple days at the pools and a couple days at the competition.   The beaches were absolutely incredible.  The sand was white and soft.  It was the best!

We met up with other friends and went to dinner at fun places.  Some of my favorite places that we ate were Flounders in Pensacola, FL, and Lamberts up in Foley, AL.  Lamberts was a very traditional southern style cooking restaurant.  You would order your meal and it came with two sides.  Then you also got what they call "pass arounds".  Pass arounds are extra sides that the servers bring to you by carrying pots or other containers of fried okra, fried potatoes, macaroni can tomatoes, black eyed peas, cabbage and apple butter for the rolls that they dish out to you if you want them.  They toss hot rolls right from the pan to you.  It was a super fun environment!

McGuires was another fun place!  It was in Pensacola, FL.  It was an Irish style pub with that type of food.  The portions were HUGE and yummy.  They decor was also unique.  There were literally thousands of $1 bills hanging from the ceiling all over the entire restaurant.

We celebrated Molly's 15th birthday while there.  She got a couple new bikini's, a hat, a shirt and a new Stanley cup.  She was really happy!  Then we went to the convention center and competed for a few hours.  They placed first so that was another great present!  We took a break before the awards were announced and went to a place called Cinnaholic.  It was a gourmet cinnamon roll shop where you could customize your cinnamon roll.  Everything from the type of frosting to the toppings.  It was super yummy but my gosh SOOOO SWEET!  Then after the awards, we all went down to Pensacola Beach to take pictures before ending the night with a group of 28 of us to celebrate with a birthday dinner.  We ate at Flounders and it was DELICIOUS!  We had yummy seafood and sushi.  They had a live band playing there that night and cute Jaycee Lyman had them play happy birthday to Molly.  It was such a fun week with my Molly girl.  We both loved it!
