Welcome to New York! 🎄🎁

You know the Christmas song Silver Bells?  It had to have been written about New York!  "City sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style.  In the air theres a feeling of Christmas..."  One of my favorite times to go to New York is in December.  Its MAGICAL!  This year we had a big group of us that went.  Mark & Allison Johnson, Brad & Shannon Hales, Ryan & Kara Pickering and Dan and Suzi.  We had so much fun!  We were there Friday, Dec 9 - Tuesday, Dec 13th.  We packed SO much in during those days and made the most of every moment.  Macy's Department store is always one of our FAVORITES!
We love to see the Santaland.  We made reservations this year to go see Santa.  Ryan & Kara had never done that before so they needed to see how cute the North Pole Village was.  And the rest of us didn't mind one bit seeing it again!

We ate at Juniors.  Waited about 45 minutes to get in - at like 11:00PM!  But Jeff's cake shake and my french onion soup were both delicious!

We had dinner another night at Carmine's which is also another favorite.

We had lunch one day at Ellen's Stardust Cafe.  None of us had eaten here before except Brad & Shannon.  Shasta told us to go there and it was a hit.  All the staff, the host, the waiters and waitresses can all sing.  Like REALLY sing!  Apparently its a recruiting spot for broadway performers.  So as a bonus with your food, you get entertained by some really talented people who sing and dance around the diner while you eat.

We saw MJ the musical.  It was a really great play about Michael Jackson's life.

And a trip to New York at Christmas wouldn't be complete without catching a performance of the Rockettes!  No matter how many times I see this show, it never bores me.  Its always so good and I love every single part!

On Sunday we went to Mass at Saint Patrick's Cathedral.  That was really neat to attend.  And St. Patrick's was beautiful as always.

We happened to be there during Santa Con - everyone everywhere was dressed like Santa.  From simply wearing a red hat to completely decking out in a costume - Santa's were everywhere you looked!  I also loved this double decker Hop On Hop Off tour bus.  It was crocheted with actual yarn!  It wasn't a wrap - it was awesome!

One of the days we went to Chelsea Market for lunch.  It too was beautifully decorated with lights and garland.

We stopped by Frosty's pop up Bar one night and tried to make reservations for the following day but it just didn't work out.  It was decorated SO awesome!

We spent a couple hours at Hudson Yards Mall.  They had 115 miles of lights strung throughout their mall.  It looked amazing!

We had lunch at Rolf's German Restaurant!  I made these reservations back in October and I was SOOOO happy that we could get in!  It is stunning inside.  Just incredible!  Christmas is smeared and plastered everywhere.  Its gorgeous!

Of course we had to see the tree at Rockerfeller Center and the giant ornaments and candy canes across from Radio City.

None of us had ever been to Grand Central Station before either.  So we went there and sent a little time in their shops.  I mean it's just the hub of the subways station but it was pretty and fun to experience.

Then we went to Brooklyn Bridge foot bridge and took pictures.  It was F R E E Z I N G!  Like I can't even describe how cold it was!  The wind coming off the water was so cold and bitter.  We took some fun pictures and then stopped by a hot dog stand on our way back to the hotel.  We came across a woman who looked lost.  She was there with her little toddler baby boy in a stroller all bundled up.  When we asked if she needed some help we discovered that she only spoke Spanish.  She was traveling here from out of town and was trying to get to the subway to go to New Jersey to get to her friends house.  Brad communicated with her.  She didn't have money for a cab and thats why she was taking the subway.  Ummm no.... it's too unsafe.  Plus this was like maybe 11:30pm.  We hailed a cab, paid him to drive them to her destination and gave her another $100.

It was such a fun trip with such fun people and all the fun places hit!  I can't wait to do it again in another couple years.
