USC

Jeff, Sidney, Brook and I flew down to LA to watch Porter play.  Dan and Suz's family, Joel and Julie and John and Scarlett's family also went down too.  It was record heat that day!  Holy Moses!  It was 104 in the stands and 118 on the field!  The game was at 3:00 so we sat in the dead heat and about sweat ourselves right to death!  But USC won and it was a fun game!

The next day we went to the Ronald Reagan Library.  It was SO cool!  We were able to walk through Air Force One and Marine One!  They were really neat!

In order to get Air Force One in this building, they partially disassembled it, by taking off it's wings and placing them on a flatbed trailer and the cabin part of the plane on another flatbed.  They were brought to the location of the library which was only partially built.  The place was placed inside the hanger and the construction of the building was finished.  Then they reassembled the plane for display.  It was pretty cool to see how it was done.  We were able to tour through Air Force One but photography was not allowed.

 Inside Marine One

Ronald and Nancy Reagan's gravesites

Also inside the library was a really neat section of the Titanic.  They told the story of how it was discovered under Reagan's presidency.  There was a top secret mission to recover lost item during WW1.  They knew that they were close to the Titanic site and asked if they could explore.  They were told they could ONLY if it stayed in the original recovery mission budget and they didn't go overtime.  Well, they found it alright and the rest is history.  They had pictures, deck chairs, silverware, pocket watches and other items that they recovered.

Then from there we went to the beach to meet up with everybody else.  We played in the water for a while.  The kids got slammed by the HUGE and powerful waves that were rolling in.  So we packed up and headed to eat!

Lauren walked away with more sand in her hair that there was on the beach!

We headed up to the pier to eat at one of our favorites, Rockin Baja Lobster.  (its seriously one of the best places around) When we pulled into the parking lot, there was this truck with all of these reflectors on it.  I just had to take a picture of it!
