My sweet new ride

Look how cute my new bike is! I love it! I bought it from a guy who builds them. He was out of baskets -- except for pink and brown which would not match. All I need is a silver or white basket and I'm set! It's hard to tell from the picture but it has a bell too. So cute! The guy who builds them has lots of different colors like pink and butter yellow (My sis in law Suzi and niece Katelyn have those) and brown and orange and lots more. He has lots of different styles too. They kind of remind me of my Grandma Hartvigsen's bike that I used to ride all over town! (Her's was a teracotta orange with a silver basket) Love my new beach crusier!!!

Pretzel Salad

2 1/2 c. pretzel sticks broken into 1/2 inch size pieces

1 cube melted butter

*Put pretzels in a cake pan and pour melted butter over top. Bake on 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool.

8 oz. cool whip

8 oz. cream cheese

1 c. sugar

*Blend together and drop spoonfuls onto pretzels and spread. (MAKE SURE TO SEAL ALL EDGES so that the jello topping doesn't run down and make the pretzels soggy)

1 c. boiling water

1 large box of strawberry jello

1 small can of crushed pineapple with the juice

2 pkg. FROZEN strawberries

*DON'T make jello according to directions, instead dissolve the jello into the boiling water. Stir until the jello is dissolved.. Then add the strawberries while still frozen. This will help the jello set up quicker. Fold in the pineapple and pour over the top of the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate overnight.

Cade the Macho Man

We went to Lagoon yesterday for Jeff's company's summer party. While there, Cade rode several rides with one of Jeff's co-worker's daughter, Averi. She is 5 like Cade. When they got off of one of the roller coasters Cade pulled his shirt sleve up all the way and flexed his bicep to Averi and said, "Hey Averi, look how big my muscles are. Don't ya wish your boyfriend was hot like me?" Seriously Cade, you're 5! What are you going to be like at 17???!

Bear Lake

We just got back from one of my most favorite places in the world. Yes, in the WORLD! I love Bear Lake! Now don't get me wrong, I would take Maui or Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas any day but Bear Lake is right up there with them in my book!

Jeff's family has been going here every year since 1980. Every year they would pack up and and head here for a week with all their friends. I was lucky enough to spend my first summer here in 1994 with one of those neighbor friends, and then the very next year as Jeff's fiance. And just about every year since. We brought our water trampoline with us. The kids had fun jumping on it and off it into the water.

Jens on the tube. He did NOT have a great time on it. However Jaxon is behind Jens and he DID have a great time on it.

Julie water skied and water skied and water skied.

When we weren't on the lake we were in the pool, on the playground, golfing or miniature golfing. We all had a great time and no one wanted to come home. Can't wait until next year.

To sum up the rest of July....

Took the kids 4 wheeling in the mountains. Had a blast!

Found this really crazy ALBINO grasshopper. How random is that?

Had my fifteen year class reunion.......I know, I know, I totally just dated myself.

A big group of most of my really close friends from school.

Took my kids and my niece and nephew hiking with the neighbors to the Grotto.

Can you say, "FREEZING COLD WATER"?

Saw this big butterfly on the hike.

Took the kids to the lake.

With the neighbors and my niece and nephew again. The kids had a blast rafting all around. They did a little fishing too.

Highlight of the lake? Well it would have to be feeding these pot guts our lunch!

Had Jens' baseball awards banquet at our house

His team with their awards. Ending the season....aaaah.

Sold lots and lots of lemonade.....and sunflower seeds.

And finally had my Hartvigsen reunion. I love this reunion!!!!! I love this canyon!!! And I love this river!!!! Loved playing in it when I was a kid and I love playing in it with my kids!
