Fall Break in AZ

Everytime we drive to Arizona I all but beg Jeff to please stop by Hoover Dam and he NEVER does.  He always says we will see it "next time".  I just want to hit him!  So I really hate the drive to Arizona.  It's long, boring and hot.  So I flew down with Cade and Molly.  Jeff, Sidney and her friends drove down.  Guess where they stopped.......?  Hoover Dam!  At the suggestion of Jeff!

Left to Right:  Brook Vaitohi - Sidney - Jayden Barnum - Jacob Rolfe - Alex Baker

These boys are some of Sidney's best friends and they came with us for fall break to Arizona because Alex Baker and some of the others were on an unofficial visit to ASU for football.

When the kids and I got to Arizona, Scarlett picked us up and we spent two nights at her and John's house.  The kids swam in their pool and had a blast.

Then after Jeff, Sidney and the boys got down there, we stayed the last night at Mark and Alli's.

All of our kids have always gotton along so well.

Savannah and Lauren came over and swam at Johnson's pool with us and hung out.  Scarlet came too!

Molly and Jacoby

Marks parents Mark and Kathy were down visiting them at the same time.  We all went out to dinner together.  Mark and Alli's nephew's, Mason and Colton came too.

Mark smoked his famous meat!

Mark is the best cook ever!  I love eating his food!

Cade and Molly both love Johnson's dog Ralphie!  Mark and Kathy brought their dogs Romo and Woody.  Well, Romo is dumb and Woody is a follower.  Somehow they got out the back gate and disappeared.  We spent hours looking for them.  After checking with all the neighbors, the dog catcher, the pound, and putting up flyers, we gave up until the next day.  Someone had found them, posted their pictures on a neighborhood facebook sight, kept them for little bit and then turned them into the animal shelter when no one called her about them.  By a stroke of good luck, when Alli was out looking the next morning for them, a neighbor told her to check the neighbor facebook page.  That's where she saw the post and located them at the shelter.  We were all relieved!

We went to an ASU football game.  The boys that came with us were able to tour the facility earlier in the day and they could each bring a guest.  Since John and Scarlet had just moved down to AZ, their girls Lauren and Savannah were some of the guests with Sidney, Molly and Lexi.  They all loved it!

These two cousins are beauties!

Our original plan was to drive home right after the game ended.  We didn't know the game time until just a few days prior to the game. As it turned out, the game didn't start until 8:00pm. We were really  hoping for an early afternoon or even a late afternoon game.  It jsut got over too late so Jeff ended up buying a last minute flight home so that he could make it back for Mason Bigler's farewell.  Me and the kids drove home.  So guess where I stopped????  You guessed it!  The Hoover Dam!  One of the Wonders of the World!  Finally got to check it off my bucket list!

It is seriously amazing how huge this dam is!

This is an overflow tunnel and you can't even tell from the picture but that hole is MASSIVE!  Like a pickup truck could drive in it - it's that big!
